They don’t give a shit about ACTUAL queer women - the only kind of “lesbians” they approve of are “political lesbians”, who are not queer/lesbian at all, but rather appropriative straight chicks. I have literally been told by “political lesbians” that I’m objectifying women by daring to love them and be attracted to them. And yet I keep seeing my fellow actual lesbians/queer women spout radfem BS; some are even defending “political lesbians”. And just… no. I absolutely hate seeing my fellow queer women supporting a movement that hates queer and especially trans* women. D:

Eurgh, I’m getting increasingly fed-up with the feminist movement. Hetero NT ladies don’t know shit about my experiences. No, not even if they claim to be “political lesbians”.

On National Coming Out Day, Thursday, October 11th, 2012, a coalition of South Asian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) organizations and individuals in the U.S. will launch DeQH, the first South Asian LGBTQ national helpline.

DeQH offers free, confidential, culturally sensitive peer support, information and resources by telephone for LGBTQ South Asian individuals, families and friends around the globe. The intent is to provide a safe and supportive ear for callers to share their concerns, questions, struggles or hopes through conversations with trained LGBTQ South Asian Peer Support Volunteers.

Callers can reach the helpline at (908) FOR-DEQH (908-367-3374) 8pm-10pm on Thursdays and Sundays, Eastern Standard Time [5-7pm PST]. Days and times will expand over time.

This fantastic, albeit horrifying website logs how many people use “f*aggot,” “no homo,” “d*ke” and “so gay” on Twitter every day in real time, including a feed of those tweets as they occur (TW for homophobia). The numbers are astounding. 

Homophobic language is everywhere, all the time. This is the terrifying proof.

A program led by Reverend Mark Kiyimba, from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Uganda. Any money you donate goes to Ugandans to improve Uganda, not white saviors or colonialists. This project is to create a queer space that provides internet connections, giving a voice to marginalized people. More information can be found at the link.

The Reverend is a leader in the LGBT movement in Uganda, and currently runs a school and orphanage near Masaka. If you can’t give, please boost at least. This is an expensive project and he has told me that it will take much effort. Thank you.
